VALORANT players are eagerly waiting for answers to their questions, and the game's developers occasionally respond, trying to clear up the question marks in players' heads. Recently, they answered an important question that had players wondering, once again showing us how much they value their community. That question may well be one we've all wondered about VALORANT: will map pick or ban come to the game? The game's developers gave us a clear answer to that question. Let's take a look at the details together in our article. Here's the answer to that much-anticipated map pick and ban question!
When Is VALORANT Map Ban Coming in 2022? Map Pick.

VALORANT Map Pick and Ban Details
Riot confirmed that no map pick and ban system is coming to the game's core competitive queue, and instead encouraged players to "play all the maps" rather than avoid the ones they dislike.
Competitive designer Jon Walker said, "This isn't something we're currently planning for the standard Competitive queue, because right now we want to reinforce learning how to play all the maps (rather than always avoiding certain maps)." He went on to add:
"That said, we do believe a map pick/ban system is worth exploring in an environment suited to more complex team strategies, like our planned tournament mode. It's still an ongoing effort, but we see its potential in a space where teams would have Agent compositions for planned games and various maps."
So from these statements, we understand that map pick and ban isn't coming anytime soon. And personally, our own opinion is that it's still early for map pick and ban. For map pick/ban and agent pick/ban to work the same way, each situation needs an alternative to fall back on. Unfortunately, that's not yet the case in VALORANT. We'd say that as the agent and map pool expands in the coming days or months, the conversation around map picking could come back onto the table, and we'll leave it there for now.
