VALORANT Agent 21 Mage: Everything We Know

VALORANT's next new agent is coming in Episode 5. The VALORANT roster is about to grow once again. With a steady storm of new characters released ever since the game's official launch on June 2, 2020, players are always waiting in excited anticipation. Here's everything we know about VALORANT Agent 21!

What Is VALORANT Agent 21's Codename?

As reported by ValorLeaks, Agent 21's codename is Mage. This is a term directly tied to another Riot Games title, and could well point to another crossover between the two games, like Neon and Zeri. It's not currently known how far the League of Legends influence might extend, but given that magic is already such a key part of VALORANT's ability system, it wouldn't be surprising for another Agent to wield primal powers in a way similar to Omen.

What Will VALORANT Mage's Abilities Be?

It's still far too early to draw many conclusions, but given that Astra was the last Controller added to the roster, it certainly seems like a fitting time to add another one. If that's the case, then like Brimstone or Viper, the new character will most likely be able to hold smoke for a team and handle those annoying sightlines. Controllers also usually come with a utility ability like a Stim Beacon or an Omen TP, but since the range of possibilities is so wide, there's no way to say for sure what the mysterious, magical Agent will bring.

When Will VALORANT's New Agent Mage Arrive?

Based on past release schedules, the new arrival likely won't come until Episode 5 Act 2 releases around August 24, 2022. That will give players plenty of time to adjust to the shiny new Pearl map before having to deal with yet another new face stepping onto the scene and stealing their RR.
