FIFA 23 Pitch Notes

Every year, alongside its announcement trailers, EA publishes a series of detailed feature breakdowns titled "Pitch Notes." The Pitch Notes clarify the new features coming to FIFA 23.

Crossplay

Following positive feedback from the FIFA 22 Cross-Play tests, it's set for a major expansion in FIFA 23. EA confirmed that Cross-Play will be usable across a number of different modes at launch, and that the FUT market — one of the most important aspects of the game — will be among them. Unfortunately, though, Cross-Play won't come to Pro Clubs. EA commented on the matter: "We want to make sure our product innovation is delivered at a high level of quality, and due to the technical complexities of cross-play implementation, modes that bring players together, like Pro Clubs, will not include cross-play at this time. We see our community's feedback, and any possible cross-play updates, changes, and adjustments will be shared on @EAFIFADirect as they become available." .

A Single FUT Market

With FUT cross-play being added for FIFA 23, the FUT Transfer Market will be expanded to include cross-platform functionality. The FUT Transfer Market will be merged across various platform pools, excluding PC and Switch.

The consoles eligible for the shared market pool are as follows:

• PlayStation 4
• PlayStation 5
• Xbox One
• Xbox Series X|S
• Stadia

FUT Leaderboards

Several updates are coming to the FUT Leaderboards with the FUT cross-play feature in FIFA 23.

FUT Division Rivals Leaderboard

With cross-play implemented, the Elite Top 200 will have a global leaderboard. You'll only be able to view this leaderboard when you enable cross-play, but you'll be able to switch between the global leaderboard and the same-platform (local) leaderboard. Players who disable cross-play within Division Rivals will keep seeing the Elite Top 200 leaderboard showing the same-platform view as it appeared in FIFA 22.

Global Leaderboards (viewable when cross-play is enabled)

These will be available on platforms such as PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia, and PC.
