FIFA 22 Road to the Final: How Do Players Upgrade?

FIFA 22 Road to the Final arrived for users last night at 9:00 PM. This promo, which follows the much-loved Future Stars event, actually came as a bit of a surprise. Early leaks had us expecting the FUT Captains promo, which would bring upgraded versions of FUT Heroes cards, but it became clear later in the week that the Road to the Final event was coming instead. So what is the Road to the Final event? How do players upgrade in the Road to the Final event? We wrote up everything you need to know!

What Is FIFA 22 Road to the Final?

As the name suggests, FIFA 22 Road to the Final will work much like the Road to the Knockouts promo from earlier in the year. The only difference is that this time, the upgrades players receive won't stop at the end of the group stage — they'll continue all the way to a possible final. In previous years there was no Road to the Knockouts event, and we went straight from October into Road to the Final, but EA Sports must have felt that wasn't quite right, since they split this promo in two. Road to the Knockouts card upgrades ended in December, and now it's time for Road to the Final, whose upgrades can continue all the way to the finals of 3 major cups.

Who Are the FIFA 22 Road to the Final Players?

Below are the 10 UCL players, 5 UEL players and 3 Europa Conference League players released so far. The cards coming out on Sunday night are Riyad Mahrez, Emre Can, Dominik Szoboszlai and former Galatasaray centre-back Jason Denayer.

How Do FIFA 22 Road to the Final Players Upgrade?

Road to the Final players' upgrades can continue all the way to the final! Below is an example of what would happen to these cards if the team won the UCL. After the event's release date of February 18:

• +1 if they win their first round of 16 match
• +1 if they reach the quarterfinals
• +1 if they reach the semifinals
• +1 if they reach the final
• +2 if they win the final

That means they can receive up to 5 different rating upgrades in total! Following this fully dynamic promo is going to be really exciting!
