Russia Removed from FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile and Online

Russia has been removed from FIFA 22! This decision was just announced on EA Sports' Twitter! Russia will be completely removed from FIFA 22! What will happen to Russian players? Will Russian-nationality players be removed from FIFA 22 Ultimate Team and FIFA Mobile? Details are coming up shortly!

Russia Removed from FIFA 22!

There's no environment that the Russia-Ukraine war of the past few days, which unfortunately drew the eyes of the entire world, hasn't spilled into. After Russia's attack on Ukraine, some Russian banks were removed from SWIFT, CSKA came to the brink of collapse in the Euroleague, the volleyball federation announced yesterday that Russian athletes were banned (they later walked that decision back and only banned certain teams and winter volleyball athletes), and now EA Sports has removed Russia from FIFA 22! So what does this mean? The decision to remove Russia from FIFA 22 hit the headlines like an avalanche, and EA Sports issued the following statement:

"EA Sports stands with the people of Ukraine and, like many others around the world, hopes for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine.

As our partners FIFA and UEFA have done, EA Sports will remove the Russian national team and all other Russian clubs from all EA Sports FIFA products. These products include FIFA 22, FIFA Mobile, and FIFA Online. We are also actively considering making changes in other areas of our game."

Russia Will Also Be Removed from FIFA Mobile and FIFA Online 4!

You heard that right, being removed from FIFA 22 won't be the only thing happening to Russia! All Russian teams will also be removed from FIFA Online 4 and FIFA Mobile.

What Will Happen to Russian FIFA 22 Players?

The statement doesn't say anything about Russian players. It's likely that players who are only in the game via the national team/Russian clubs will inevitably be removed from the game. But we don't think anything will happen to players like Miranchuk or Yashin who have a connection to the Russian national team/Russian clubs beyond that. Still, it's worth keeping an eye on developments.
